Samantha Hines
Samantha Hines was born in Sydney, Australia where she trained at Ev and Bow, before attending New Zealand School of Dance. In her final year, she was hired by Australian Dance Theater under the directorship of Garry Stewart. She performed and toured extensively with the company both nationally and internationally with works such as G, Proximity, and Be Yourself.
In 2016, she went on to work with Lucy Guerin and Gideon Obarzanek, premiering their work Attractor and Stephanie Lake for Pile of Bones. Between 2017-2021, she joined Dancenorth full time, touring to America, Europe, Mexico and Asia. In the following years, she performed in the world premieres of; Grey Rhino by Cass Mortimer Eipper and Charmene Yap, Manifesto and Monsters by Stephanie Lake, Double Beat by Sara Black, How to Be Us and New Retro by Lucy Guerin Inc.
Samantha was nominated for the Helpmann award in 2017, the Greenroom Award in 2017 and a New York Bessie award in 2019.
Zee Zunnur
Zee Zunnur is a Singaporean movement artist who currently dances with Hofesh Shechter Company (UK). She started dance training at a young age in traditional Malay dance. With her roots in Malay culture and folk art, she sheds light on the existence, richness in wisdom and strength of Southeast Asia, re-writing the stories of her ancestors to honour them as she threads through her artistic realms.
Being part of the pioneer batch at School of the Arts Singapore and danced with T.H.E. (Second) Dance Company, her love for contemporary dance brought her to London to train at London Contemporary Dance School.
Other than touring internationally as a performer and teacher with Hofesh Shechter Company, she has also been invited as a guest artist and choreographer with T.H.E. Dance Company, M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ignition Dance Festival, Esplanade da:ns Festival Singapore, Singapore Biennale and more.
In Australia, she has worked with Marrugeku, Pre-Professional Year in Sydney Dance Company, STRUT Dance, Co3 Australia, Mitch Harvey Company, James Vu Anh Pham, Brooke Leeder, Rachel Ogle, WAAPA, Fremantle Biennale and Perth Festival.
Born in 1991 in Sydney, Australia, Georgette Sofatzis-Xuereb is a former professional contemporary dancer, dance coach, and choreographer. She is an Honours Graduate of The Ailey School in New York City, where she majored in Horton Technique and Dance Performance. Additionally, Georgette is an APMA Clinical Pilates Practitioner and Movement Scientist, focusing on dancers and musculoskeletal pathologies in both clinical and class settings.
From 2011 to 2014, Georgette performed for many renowned choreographers in NYC. In 2013, she was invited to perform Memoria with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at New York City Center and went on to tour nationally with the Ailey Junior Company in 2014. From 2016-2017, she performed with Scottish Dance Theatre in the UK and later danced for various project-based companies in London. In 2018, she returned to Sydney and performed for Opera Australia, DUTI Dance Company, Twisted Element Company, and other Australian contemporary dance projects.
In 2021, she founded DANCEFORMATION, a professional contemporary dance program, offering international training and performance opportunities while integrating her passion for movement science to enhance dancers' training and career longevity.
Since 2021, Georgette’s choreography has been commissioned by DFP, AMPA, and Ev & Bow. Her artistic approach, influenced by her experiences in the UK and NYC, is driven by visions of humankind, human physiology, and the interplay between the natural and supernatural. She explores abstract physicality, creating performances that challenge and expand the boundaries of human expression.
Since 2018, Georgette has been coaching pre-professional dancers in Contemporary Dance, Horton Technique, and Dance Pilates at Sydney’s top dance organisations. She is dedicated to evidence-based training, applying biomechanics to enhance efficiency, manage fatigue, and support injury rehabilitation.
She is currently continuing her studies in Exercise Physiology at the University of Wollongong, furthering her expertise in helping individuals achieve their physical goals.
